Sustainability, why it matters?

At Sister Lane, we believe that how a garment is made and makes you feel is just as important as the garment itself.

That is why we use high-quality, natural-fibre fabrics, with a focus on breathability, comfort and creating timeless pieces that are made to be worn and loved for years to come. We believe in a slower approach to fashion — creating practical, elegant clothing that can become lasting pieces in your wardrobe.

Where possible, we choose to produce in New Zealand. Producing locally allows us greater visibility throughout the manufacturing process, while supporting local businesses and our own economy. When manufacturing offshore is necessary, we carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure that ethical and responsible practices are at the forefront of their production.

We are committed to working with manufacturers and suppliers who meet our standards and share our values. We prioritise GOTS-certified organic fabrics where available, supporting more responsible environmental and social practices throughout the production process.

Our garments are designed to be worn through the different seasons of a woman's life — from pregnancy to breastfeeding and beyond. By creating versatile, timeless pieces that can continue to be worn in every stage of life, we aim to encourage a more considered and lasting wardrobe.
